The Catawaba Valley Music Revival is a non-profit organization focused on preserving and promoting live music and arts in
Catawba county and surrounding areas of North and South Carolina. We provide young and old many outlets where their music may be heard, appreciated and celebrated in a family friendly environment. CVMR, sponsors and supports youth and adult Bluegrass bands, classic Country soloist/duos/ bands and Gospel soloist and groups. Since 2008, that support has reached many levels from providing practice facilities for individuals and bands, to providing instruments to children when needed to spark their interest, as well as bringing top rated talent to our events. The CVMR also is instrumental in securing studios for recording demos and albums for individuals and bands to preserve our areas history.
Each year, a Catawba Valley Music Revival Youth Bluegrass Band is formed of youth and children under the age of 18 years. Members
commit to a year, but may continue with the group until the age of 18 or until they graduate high school. This band performs “free of charge” for groups and facilities in the area and members share in the different responsibility that being in a band creates.
The first Saturday night of each month, CVMR holds a jam session for senior adults in Maiden, NC. This jam includes a meal at 6pm (no charge). This jam is not limited to acoustic music, and young musicians are encouraged to attend for a hands on learning experience.
Our newest addition to the CVMR is adding an art component to our music festival in the fall. All artists from the area are invited to exhibit at our new art walk on Friday night at the festival, and again on Saturday at the festival for a full out arts extravaganza!
